Original designs drawn in our own editor — every one free to download as a PDF with DMC codes, skein counts and a chart you can stitch from on screen.

Each pattern page shows a preview of the finished piece, the full colour list with skein amounts and the finished size on 14-, 16- and 18-count Aida. Download the PDF for a symbol chart with numbered pages, or open the design in the stitch tracker and mark stitches as you go.

Every design here is original — we never copy other designers’ charts or use characters we don’t have rights to. You can open any pattern in the editor to recolour it, change any square or turn it into a different craft.

Frequently asked questions

Are these cross stitch patterns really free?

Yes. Every pattern is free to download, print and stitch, with no sign-up. They are licensed CC BY-NC 4.0: share and gift what you make, but please don’t sell the pattern itself.

Which thread do the patterns use?

DMC stranded cotton. Each key also shows the nearest Anchor colour, and you can switch a pattern to Anchor in the editor.

What size will my finished piece be?

Divide the stitch count by your fabric count. Each pattern page lists the finished size on 14-, 16- and 18-count, and the PDF cover shows how much fabric to buy.

Can I change the colours?

Yes. Open the pattern in the editor, select a colour in the key and choose Replace to swap it for any other thread.
