Original charts with DMC-numbered drill codes and drill counts, ready to print and work on a blank canvas.

Each chart lists every drill colour by its DMC number with the count you need plus a 10% spare. Square drills are about 2.5 mm, so the finished size is easy to work out from the grid.

Open a design in the editor to change colours or crop it to fit your canvas.

To work a chart without a printed canvas, start with a blank adhesive canvas and transfer the grid in sections: mark every tenth row and column with a fine pencil, then place drills one ten-by-ten block at a time while checking each block against the chart. The bold lines every ten cells on the PDF match those marks, which makes it much easier to find your place after a break.

Work one colour at a time within a block rather than switching constantly, and keep a light behind or beside the canvas so the symbols stay readable. Mandalas and geometric designs are forgiving first projects because their repeats let you check each segment against its neighbour; landscapes reward patience with smooth colour blends, but have more single drills scattered between colours.

For the neatest finish, press the completed canvas under a heavy book overnight to seat the drills, then frame it behind glass or seal it with a clear sealer suitable for diamond paintings.

Frequently asked questions

Can I print these onto a canvas?

The PDF is a chart to follow, not an adhesive canvas. Use it with a blank diamond painting canvas or as a guide for your own.

Why DMC numbers?

Most diamond painting drills are sold by DMC colour number, so the key uses the same numbering.

How many drills do I need?

The materials table lists drills per colour with 10% extra for losses.

Square or round drills?

Either. Square drills fill the canvas edge to edge; round drills leave small gaps and sparkle more.
