Accessibility statement

We want everyone who makes things to be able to use CraftPatterns. As our checklist we use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the international standard that most accessibility laws refer to.

  • Charts never rely on colour alone: every colour has a symbol, and the “Shapes first” and “Letters” symbol sets are designed for colour-blind and low-vision stitchers.
  • The colour key is a text list of every colour, code, count and amount — a full text equivalent of the chart.
  • Controls work with a keyboard and have visible focus. Editor shortcuts: B pencil, E eraser, G fill, I picker, L line, R rectangle, H/V mirror, 1–9 select a colour, Ctrl/Cmd+Z undo; +/− zoom; 0 fit. In the stitch tracker, Tab to the chart, move the cursor with the arrow keys and press Space to mark or unmark a stitch; whole rows and colours have their own buttons. Drawing in the editor needs a mouse, pen or touch.
  • Large-print PDFs use bigger squares and symbols.
  • Animations are disabled when your device asks for reduced motion, and controls are at least 24 pixels across, the WCAG minimum.

Automated checks do not catch everything, and the site has not yet had a full manual review by an accessibility specialist. If something doesn't work for you, please email us — we'll fix it or find a workaround.
