Using this chart

Search by name (“kiwi”), code (19018) or hex value, or press a family button to see all the blues or all the pinks. Sorting by colour order arranges the beads like a rainbow, which is handy when you are choosing shades for a gradient or sorting a bead box.

Open any colour to see its colour values, the nearest bead in other brands with a match rating, similar Perler shades, contrast, and free fuse bead patterns that use it. Special finishes behave differently when ironed, so we flag them where our data records them and never suggest a neon, transparent, glow or metallic bead as a match for a plain one when a plain bead is close.

Every match is computed with CIEDE2000, the colour-difference formula that tracks how people actually perceive colour, from our documented RGB values (how colour matching works). Bead colours vary between production batches and look different before and after ironing, so check a few real beads before committing to a large design.

Planning a project? The bead pattern maker converts a photo into a pegboard-aware chart in any of these colours, and the bead calculator tells you how many beads and boards you need.

Frequently asked questions

How many Perler bead colours are there?

This chart lists the 103 Perler® midi bead colours in our dataset. Perler adds and retires colours over time, so a shade on current packaging may be missing here.

Can I mix Perler and Hama beads?

Midi beads from both brands are about 5 mm and are often mixed. They can melt at slightly different rates, so iron a small test piece first.

Is there a printable Perler colour chart?

Yes: Printable chart makes a free PDF of every colour grouped by family, and Stash checklist lists them by code with tick boxes, handy for sorting a bead collection.

How do I find the Perler colour closest to a shade I want?

Use the shade finder: pick a colour or paste a hex value to see the eight nearest Perler beads and how close each one is.

Are these the official colour names?

Names come from a community-maintained dataset of bead colours and may differ slightly from current packaging.

How many beads come in a pack?

Pack sizes vary by brand and range; 1,000-bead bags are common. Our bead calculator rounds your total up to 1,000-bead packs.

How do I open the details for one Perler colour?

Select any swatch. A panel opens with the colour's values, closest matches, neighbouring shades, contrast and patterns, and the address bar changes to a link for that colour (for example /colors/perler/#80-15089) that you can bookmark or share.
