About this design
Diamond painting is made for space scenes, because every drill catches the light like a star. The galaxy’s two spiral arms sweep out from the centre in layers of colour, from 3609 Plum Ultra Light at their brightest through 3607 Plum Light and 552 Violet Medium to a faint haze of 333 Blue Violet Very Dark. The core is a Snow White centre with a ring of 3078 Golden Yellow Very Light. The background is 939 Navy Blue Very Dark, scattered with single White drills as distant stars.
How to work it
The chart has 3,600 drills in 8 colours. Fill the dark background last; it is the largest colour, and leaving it until the end makes the arms easier to follow. The single star drills are easy to miss, so tick them off on the printed chart.
Size and display
With 2.5 mm square drills the picture is 60 × 60 drills, about 15 × 15 cm. A black frame makes the colours glow, and round drills add extra sparkle if you prefer them. The materials table lists every colour with a 10% allowance for drills that go astray.
Colour plan
DMC 939 Navy Blue Very Dark does the most work, 54% of the 3,600 drills, followed by DMC 333 Blue Violet Very Dark at 17%. DMC B5200 Snow White (32) is used only a little: small details worth marking on the chart so you don't miss them. Every square of the grid is filled.
Working notes
75 squares stand alone in their colour, with no same-coloured neighbour along a side; place those drills one at a time. The busiest row changes colour 17 times.
Anchor equivalents
