About this design
The canopy is a broad oval of leaves in DMC 725 Topaz Medium Light, 720 Orange Spice Dark, 817 Coral Red Very Dark and 355 Terra Cotta Dark, mixed in soft irregular patches so it looks like real foliage catching the light. A few dark branches show through the leaves. The trunk is 3781 Mocha Brown Dark with a 3021 Brown Gray Very Dark shadow side, and it flares out where it meets a hill of 3364 and 3363 Pine Green. The sky is a plain, pale 3753 Antique Blue, which lets the warm colours glow.
How to work it
The chart has 3,600 drills in 9 colours. The leaves are patches rather than single drills, so work one colour at a time across the canopy and the patches will join up naturally.
Size and display
With 2.5 mm square drills the picture is 60 × 60 drills, about 15 × 15 cm. Hang it from September to November, or pair it with spring and summer versions recoloured in the editor for a set of four seasons. The materials table lists every colour with a 10% allowance for drills that go astray.
Colour plan
DMC 3753 Antique Blue Ult Vy Lt does the most work, 44% of the 3,600 drills, followed by DMC 725 Topaz Med Lt at 14%. Every colour is used at least 60 times, so there are no tiny one-off details to hunt for. Every square of the grid is filled.
Working notes
No square stands alone in its colour, so every colour works up in solid blocks. The busiest row changes colour 22 times.
Anchor equivalents
The nearest Anchor colour for each DMC colour in this pattern, measured as ΔE 2000: up to 3 is very close, up to 6 close, up to 10 approximate.
