About this design
The eyes are two flat lines, the mouth is a round yawn and a single blue drop of drool hangs from one corner. A small Z escapes from the top right corner, the comic-strip shorthand for sleep.
How to use it
Use it for a “do not disturb” door sign, a sleepover invitation or a bedtime routine chart. It is a fun cross stitch for a pillowcase corner. Pair it with the moon patterns for a bedtime set.
Size and bead counts
The picture fills 214 of the 256 squares in its grid, within an area 16 squares wide and 16 tall; the rest stay empty. It uses 4 colours: light yellow 138 (#FFCC22), black 66 (#332200), dark yellow 8 (#DD9911), blue 2 (#5599EE). Made with 5 mm fuse beads it measures about 8.0 × 8.0 cm and fits on one standard 29 × 29 pegboard. Stitched on 14-count Aida it is about 2.9 × 2.9 cm, or 3.7 × 3.7 cm on 11-count, so add a few centimetres of fabric on every side for the hoop.
Colour plan
#FFCC22 does the most work, 64% of the 214 pixels, followed by #332200 at 31%. #DD9911 (8) and #5599EE (2) are used only a little: small details worth marking on the chart so you don't miss them. 16% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
It is 16 × 16 pixels; at 8× scale it becomes 128 × 128. The busiest row changes colour 9 times.
