About this design
The face is a yellow circle with a darker yellow shade along the bottom. Two red pixel hearts fill the eye area, and the open mouth shows a dark inside with a red tongue. It is an original drawing in the familiar emoji style, not a copy of any one set.
How to use it
Use it on Valentine’s cards, for a “love it” sticker or a fun bead magnet. It is a quick, cheerful cross stitch. Pair it with the cool face and sleepy face for a set of moods.
Size and bead counts
The picture fills 208 of the 256 squares in its grid, within an area 16 squares wide and 16 tall; the rest stay empty. It uses 5 colours: light yellow 93 (#FFCC22), black 60 (#332200), red 38 (#EE2244), dark yellow 9 (#DD9911), dark red 8 (#882211). Made with 5 mm fuse beads it measures about 8.0 × 8.0 cm and fits on one standard 29 × 29 pegboard. Stitched on 14-count Aida it is about 2.9 × 2.9 cm, or 3.7 × 3.7 cm on 11-count, so add a few centimetres of fabric on every side for the hoop.
Colour plan
#FFCC22 does the most work, 45% of the 208 pixels, followed by #332200 at 29%. #DD9911 (9) and #882211 (8) are used only a little: small details worth marking on the chart so you don't miss them. 19% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
It is 16 × 16 pixels; at 8× scale it becomes 128 × 128. The busiest row changes colour 11 times.
