About this design

The cassette is a grey rectangle with a bright orange label, a white window with two dark reels and brown tape between them, and the trapezium-shaped base with screw holes along the bottom edge. It is wider than tall, like a real cassette.

How to use it

Use it for a playlist cover, a retro-themed birthday or a music lover’s card. It is a satisfying fuse bead project and a fun patch. Change the label colour and write a title on it in the editor.

Size and bead counts

The picture fills 172 of the 256 squares in its grid, within an area 16 squares wide and 11 tall; the rest stay empty. It uses 7 colours: black 66 (#111111), grey 44 (#666677), orange 32 (#FF8833), white 22 (#FFFFFF), dark brown 4 (#332211), light grey 2 (#BBBBBB), dark grey 2 (#444455). Made with 5 mm fuse beads it measures about 8.0 × 5.5 cm and fits on one standard 29 × 29 pegboard. Stitched on 14-count Aida it is about 2.9 × 2.0 cm, or 3.7 × 2.5 cm on 11-count, so add a few centimetres of fabric on every side for the hoop.
