About this design

A house sprite works best when every part has its own colour. Here the steep red roof has a darker red eave along the bottom edge, which gives it depth and makes it overhang the walls. The walls are a warm cream with tan shading in the lower corners, the square window glows yellow as if a lamp is on inside, and the brown door sits to the right. A grey chimney rises on the right side of the roof with a few pixels of pale smoke drifting up and to the left, and two rows of green grass ground the house so it does not float.

How to use it

Use the cottage as a map marker, a village tile or a “home” button. The design sits in the left part of the canvas, leaving room on the right for a tree or a fence if you want to extend the scene in the editor. Swap the roof colour to blue or green to make a row of different houses, or turn off the lamp by recolouring the window grey for a night-time version. Export at 4×, 8× or 16× with nearest-neighbour scaling, or switch craft to make it in fuse beads or cross stitch.
