About this design
The crescent opens to the right, with a white inside framed by a black outline, and three small diamond-shaped stars sit in the space it leaves. The stars are different distances from the moon so the picture looks scattered rather than lined up.
How to use it
Colour the moon yellow and the background navy for a night sky, or keep it monochrome for a calm nursery picture. It makes a sweet cross stitch for a baby’s room or a sleepover invitation, and a fuse bead night light decoration.
Size and bead counts
The picture fills 114 of the 256 squares in its grid, within an area 16 squares wide and 14 tall; the rest stay empty. It uses 2 colours: white 60 (#FFFFFF), black 54 (#111111). Made with 5 mm fuse beads it measures about 8.0 × 7.0 cm and fits on one standard 29 × 29 pegboard. Stitched on 14-count Aida it is about 2.9 × 2.5 cm, or 3.7 × 3.2 cm on 11-count, so add a few centimetres of fabric on every side for the hoop.
Colour plan
#FFFFFF does the most work, 53% of the 114 pixels, followed by #111111 at 47%. Every colour is used at least 54 times, so there are no tiny one-off details to hunt for. 55% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
It is 16 × 16 pixels; at 8× scale it becomes 128 × 128. The busiest row changes colour 7 times.
