About this design
The anchor follows the traditional shape: a ring at the top, a horizontal stock, a long shank and two curved arms that end in pointed flukes. The ring has a white centre so it reads as a hole, and the lines are two pixels thick so they survive being stitched or beaded.
How to use it
Make it in navy instead of black for a nautical look, or stitch it on a beach bag. It suits sailing club badges, seaside party invitations and a boy’s bedroom. Pair it with the ocean patterns in the library for a set.
Size and bead counts
The picture fills 74 of the 256 squares in its grid, within an area 16 squares wide and 16 tall; the rest stay empty. It uses 2 colours: black 70 (#111111), white 4 (#FFFFFF). Made with 5 mm fuse beads it measures about 8.0 × 8.0 cm and fits on one standard 29 × 29 pegboard. Stitched on 14-count Aida it is about 2.9 × 2.9 cm, or 3.7 × 3.7 cm on 11-count, so add a few centimetres of fabric on every side for the hoop.
Colour plan
#111111 does the most work, 95% of the 74 pixels, followed by #FFFFFF at 5%. #FFFFFF (4) is used only a little: small details worth marking on the chart so you don't miss them. 71% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
It is 16 × 16 pixels; at 8× scale it becomes 128 × 128. The busiest row changes colour 6 times.
