About this design
This tyrannosaurus faces right, with a big square head, a wide mouth and a single Black eye. Its tiny arm sticks out in front, the body leans forward and the tail rises up behind it to the left, ending in a point. The body is Green and the belly is Sour Apple, which gives it a little shading. Dinosaurs never go out of fashion with children, and this one is chunky enough to survive being played with.
You will need roughly 76 Green, 58 Black and 5 Sour Apple beads. Buy a few spares of each, because the odd bead always rolls away.
Placing the beads
At 17 × 16 beads the design fits easily on one large square pegboard. The tail and the head are on different rows; check the start of each row against the chart.
Ironing and finishing
Ironing is a job for an adult. Cover the beads with ironing paper, set a dry iron to medium and move it in slow circles until the beads just begin to merge, then let it cool, turn it over and press the back. Cool it flat under a heavy book so it stays straight. At about 8.5 × 8 cm in midi beads it makes a toy, a magnet or a dinosaur-party favour.
Colour plan
Perler 80-19080 Bright Green does the most work, 55% of the 139 beads, followed by Perler 80-19018 Black at 42%. Perler 80-15241 Sour Apple (5) is used only a little: small details worth marking on the chart so you don't miss them. 49% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
All the beads touch along a full side, so it irons into one solid piece.
