About this design
The body is Green with a stripe of Kiwi Lime along the side, the plates on its back are Orange, and the tail tapers away to the right. The head is small and low on the left, with one black eye, which is true to the real animal. It pairs well with the T-rex in the library for a two-dinosaur set, and it is long and flat enough to make a good bookmark topper.
Bead counts: 93 Green, 56 Black, 20 Kiwi Lime and 14 Orange, 183 beads in all. Buy a few spares of each colour, because the odd bead always rolls away.
Placing the beads
You need one large square pegboard for this 24 × 13 design. At 24 beads long it still fits on one large square board; centre it so the tail does not run off the edge.
Ironing and finishing
An adult should do the ironing. Use ironing paper, a medium dry iron and slow circular movements, lifting the paper to check after about ten seconds. Iron the back once the front has cooled, and leave it under a book so it stays flat. Finished, it is about 12 × 6.5 cm, a good size for a magnet or a dinosaur-party favour.
Colour plan
Perler 80-19080 Bright Green does the most work, 51% of the 183 beads, followed by Perler 80-19018 Black at 31%. Every colour is used at least 14 times, so there are no tiny one-off details to hunt for. 41% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
All the beads touch along a full side, so it irons into one solid piece.
