About this design
A fat Yellow crescent curves from the top round the left side to the bottom right, inside a black outline. It is a calm, simple shape, and with the shooting star it makes a matching pair for a child’s bedroom wall. Glow-in-the-dark beads in place of the Yellow make it a night light of sorts.
Bead counts: 77 Yellow and 47 Black, 124 beads in all. Buy a few spares of each colour, because the odd bead always rolls away.
Placing the beads
You need one large square pegboard for this 15 × 15 design. Follow the curve with the outline, then fill row by row.
Ironing and finishing
With an adult at the iron, fuse the front under ironing paper on a medium setting until the holes start to close, then flip it and do the back. Cool it under something heavy to stop it curling. The finished piece is roughly 7.5 × 7.5 cm and works well as a wall decoration or a bedtime card.
Colour plan
Perler 80-19003 Yellow does the most work, 62% of the 124 beads, followed by Perler 80-19018 Black at 38%. Every colour is used at least 47 times, so there are no tiny one-off details to hunt for. 45% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
All the beads touch along a full side, so it irons into one solid piece.
Hama and Artkal S equivalents
