About this design

The glass dome is computed as a circle, shaded darker blue on the upper left behind a white glint so it looks curved and shiny. Inside, a small pine tree with a gold star stands on a bank of snow, and single white pixels drift around it as falling flakes. The base is red with a gold band, like a souvenir globe.

How to use it

Use it for Christmas cards, winter party invitations or a cosy bedroom picture. It makes a satisfying fuse bead ornament, and stitched with a blending filament in the glass it shimmers. Swap the tree for a snowman or a house in the editor to make your own scene.

Size and bead counts

The picture fills 208 of the 256 squares in its grid, within an area 16 squares wide and 16 tall; the rest stay empty. It uses 10 colours: light blue 56 (#AADDFF), blue 40 (#77BBEE), dark blue 38 (#112233), white 26 (#FFFFFF), light red 16 (#CC3344), dark red 12 (#882233), green 10 (#33AA55), yellow 7 (#FFCC33), dark green 2 (#227744), brown 1 (#885533). Made with 5 mm fuse beads it measures about 8.0 × 8.0 cm and fits on one standard 29 × 29 pegboard. Stitched on 14-count Aida it is about 2.9 × 2.9 cm, or 3.7 × 3.7 cm on 11-count, so add a few centimetres of fabric on every side for the hoop.
