About this design
The mitten is Light Blue with two White star shapes near the top and a thumb sticking out on the right. The cuff is White with a row of Light Grey dots, which reads as a knitted rib. Make two, one mirrored, and join them with a ribbon for a pair of mittens on the tree.
Bead counts: 88 Light Blue, 49 Black, 41 White and 5 Light Grey, 183 beads in all. Buy a few spares of each colour, because the odd bead always rolls away.
Placing the beads
One large square pegboard (29 × 29 pegs) holds the whole 15 × 15 design. To make the second mitten of a pair, read the chart from right to left. Check each row against the chart before you move on, as one stray bead is hard to fix after ironing.
Ironing and finishing
Ask an adult to iron it: ironing paper on top, a medium dry iron, slow circles, and stop when the beads are joined but the holes are still open if you want a lighter look. Turn it over, press the back and cool it flat. At about 7.5 × 7.5 cm it is just right for a tree ornament or a winter card.
Colour plan
Perler 80-19009 Light Blue does the most work, 48% of the 183 beads, followed by Perler 80-19018 Black at 27%. Perler 80-15181 Light Grey (5) is used only a little: small details worth marking on the chart so you don't miss them. 19% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
All the beads touch along a full side, so it irons into one solid piece.
