About this design
The cane is two pixels wide, with stripes that alternate every pixel down the straight part so they look like they wrap around it. The hook curves over at the top and ends in a short drop, and the bottom end is slightly paler like the tip of a real cane.
How to use it
Use it for Christmas cards, tree ornaments and gift tags, or make a few in fuse beads and hang them from the tree. Swap the red for green in the editor for a mint version.
Size and bead counts
The picture fills 85 of the 256 squares in its grid, within an area 12 squares wide and 15 tall; the rest stay empty. It uses 4 colours: black 43 (#221111), red 21 (#EE2233), white 19 (#FFFFFF), light blue 2 (#DDDDEE). Made with 5 mm fuse beads it measures about 6.0 × 7.5 cm and fits on one standard 29 × 29 pegboard. Stitched on 14-count Aida it is about 2.2 × 2.7 cm, or 2.8 × 3.5 cm on 11-count, so add a few centimetres of fabric on every side for the hoop.
Colour plan
#221111 does the most work, 51% of the 85 pixels, followed by #EE2233 at 25%. #DDDDEE (2) is used only a little: small details worth marking on the chart so you don't miss them. 67% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
It is 16 × 16 pixels; at 8× scale it becomes 128 × 128. The busiest row changes colour 10 times.
