About this design
This is the rocket from a thousand picture books, reduced to its essentials. A red nose cone sits on a white body that is shaded light grey down the right-hand side, so the rocket looks round rather than flat. The porthole is a dark ring with two blues inside: lighter at the top left where the light would catch the glass and darker at the bottom right. Red fins flare out at the base on both sides, a red band wraps the bottom of the body, and the flame below fades from orange at the nozzle to a pale yellow tip.
How to use it
The rocket makes a cheerful icon for a “launch” or “start” button, a space-themed game or a child’s birthday invitation. Export at 8× or 16× with nearest-neighbour scaling to keep the edges crisp. For an animated flame, make a second frame in the editor where the yellow tip is one pixel longer, and alternate the two. Because it uses only nine colours with clear outlines, it also works well as a fuse bead pattern or a small cross-stitch motif for a space-mad child.
Colour plan
#222233 does the most work, 45% of the 116 pixels, followed by #EEEEFF at 22%. #AABBCC (8), #992222 (5), #FFAA22 (5), #FFEE55 (5), #2266AA (3) and #44AAFF (1) are used only a little: small details worth marking on the chart so you don't miss them. 55% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
It is 16 × 16 pixels; at 8× scale it becomes 128 × 128. The busiest row changes colour 9 times.
