About this design
Each of the four leaves is a rounded heart shape with a pale highlight, arranged in a cross around a dark green centre. The stem curls off to the bottom right corner, which stops the design looking like a plus sign.
How to use it
Use it for St Patrick’s Day, good-luck cards before exams or a new job, and lucky keyrings in fuse beads. Remove one leaf in the editor for a three-leaf shamrock.
Size and bead counts
The picture fills 172 of the 256 squares in its grid, within an area 16 squares wide and 15 tall; the rest stay empty. It uses 4 colours: green 78 (#55BB55), black 71 (#112211), dark green 17 (#338833), light green 6 (#99DD88). Made with 5 mm fuse beads it measures about 8.0 × 7.5 cm and fits on one standard 29 × 29 pegboard. Stitched on 14-count Aida it is about 2.9 × 2.7 cm, or 3.7 × 3.5 cm on 11-count, so add a few centimetres of fabric on every side for the hoop.
Colour plan
#55BB55 does the most work, 45% of the 172 pixels, followed by #112211 at 41%. #99DD88 (6) is used only a little: small details worth marking on the chart so you don't miss them. 33% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
It is 16 × 16 pixels; at 8× scale it becomes 128 × 128. The busiest row changes colour 12 times.
