About this design

The cactus has a central column with a light green stripe for its ribs, and two arms that bend upwards on either side. A pink flower sits on top, and the terracotta pot has a darker rim and two small marks for texture.

How to use it

Use it for a plant-lover’s card, a desk decoration or a “stay sharp” good-luck note. It is an easy cross stitch on 14-count Aida and a quick bead magnet. Make several with different flowers in the editor for a windowsill row.

Size and bead counts

The picture fills 137 of the 256 squares in its grid, within an area 14 squares wide and 16 tall; the rest stay empty. It uses 7 colours: black 60 (#112211), green 31 (#55AA55), light orange 18 (#DD7744), dark green 16 (#337733), light green 8 (#88DD77), light pink 2 (#FF77AA), dark orange 2 (#AA5522). Made with 5 mm fuse beads it measures about 7.0 × 8.0 cm and fits on one standard 29 × 29 pegboard. Stitched on 14-count Aida it is about 2.5 × 2.9 cm, or 3.2 × 3.7 cm on 11-count, so add a few centimetres of fabric on every side for the hoop.
