About this design
This is a pair of eighth notes (quavers) joined by a double-thickness beam, with tilted oval note heads at the bottom of each stem. The heads lean the way they do in printed music, which is what makes the shape read as notes rather than a table or a gate.
How to use it
Use it for a music teacher’s gift, a choir or band badge, a playlist cover or a piano-themed birthday card. In fuse beads it needs fewer than 60 black beads. Recolour it in gold for a celebration, or add a stave behind it in the editor.
Size and bead counts
The picture fills 59 of the 256 squares in its grid, within an area 13 squares wide and 13 tall; the rest stay empty. It uses 1 colour: black 59 (#111111). Made with 5 mm fuse beads it measures about 6.5 × 6.5 cm and fits on one standard 29 × 29 pegboard. Stitched on 14-count Aida it is about 2.4 × 2.4 cm, or 3.0 × 3.0 cm on 11-count, so add a few centimetres of fabric on every side for the hoop.
Colour plan
#111111 does the most work, 100% of the 59 pixels. Every colour is used at least 59 times, so there are no tiny one-off details to hunt for. 77% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
It is 16 × 16 pixels; at 8× scale it becomes 128 × 128. The busiest row changes colour 4 times.
