About this design
Santa’s hat is Red with a White trim and a White bobble flopping over to the right. Below it the face is Peach with two black eyes and a small Pink nose, all surrounded by a big round White beard. The white areas are large, so it is quick to fill. It pairs with the snowman and reindeer faces for a set of tree ornaments.
Bead counts: 83 White, 48 Black, 36 Peach, 28 Red and 4 Pink, 199 beads in all. Buy a few spares of each colour, because the odd bead always rolls away.
Placing the beads
The pattern is 18 × 17, so it sits inside one large square pegboard; centre it so there is a margin all round. Fill the hat trim before the face so the boundary between Peach and White stays straight.
Ironing and finishing
Ask an adult to iron it: ironing paper on top, a medium dry iron, slow circles, and stop when the beads are joined but the holes are still open if you want a lighter look. Turn it over, press the back and cool it flat. At about 9 × 8.5 cm it is just right for a tree ornament or a gift tag.
Colour plan
Perler 80-19001 White does the most work, 42% of the 199 beads, followed by Perler 80-19018 Black at 24%. Perler 80-19083 Pink (4) is used only a little: small details worth marking on the chart so you don't miss them. 35% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
All the beads touch along a full side, so it irons into one solid piece.
