About this design
The face is Light Brown with a Tan muzzle, black eyes with White highlights and a round Red nose. The antlers are Brown, branching out on each side above the ears. It uses six colours but is symmetrical, so after the left half the right half is a mirror. Hang it on the tree beside the snowman and Santa faces.
Bead counts: 76 Black, 57 Light Brown, 26 Brown, 20 Tan, 11 Red and 2 White, 192 beads in all. Buy a few spares of each colour, because the odd bead always rolls away.
Placing the beads
You need one large square pegboard for this 17 × 18 design. The antlers branch, so check each tine is joined to the main antler along an edge before ironing.
Ironing and finishing
An adult should do the ironing. Use ironing paper, a medium dry iron and slow circular movements, lifting the paper to check after about ten seconds. Iron the back once the front has cooled, and leave it under a book so it stays flat. Finished, it is about 8.5 × 9 cm, a good size for a tree ornament or a gift tag.
Colour plan
Perler 80-19018 Black does the most work, 40% of the 192 beads, followed by Perler 80-19021 Light Brown at 30%. Perler 80-19001 White (2) is used only a little: small details worth marking on the chart so you don't miss them. 37% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
All the beads touch along a full side, so it irons into one solid piece.
