About this design
The slice is a tall triangle pointing down, with a thick Butterscotch crust across the top. The cheese is Cheddar, scattered with two-by-two Tomato pepperoni slices and single Green beads for pieces of pepper. The black outline tapers to a single bead at the tip, so the shape reads clearly even from a distance. Food designs are always popular at bead parties, and this one is quick enough for younger children to finish in one sitting.
You will need roughly 73 Cheddar, 49 Black, 30 Butterscotch, 24 Tomato and 4 Green beads. Buy a few spares of each, because the odd bead always rolls away.
Placing the beads
At 17 × 17 beads the design fits easily on one large square pegboard. Work from the crust down; each row is one bead narrower on each side every two rows.
Ironing and finishing
Ironing is a job for an adult. Cover the beads with ironing paper, set a dry iron to medium and move it in slow circles until the beads just begin to merge, then let it cool, turn it over and press the back. Cool it flat under a heavy book so it stays straight. At about 8.5 × 8.5 cm in midi beads it makes a fridge magnet, a coaster or a pizza-party decoration.
Colour plan
Perler 80-19057 Cheddar does the most work, 41% of the 180 beads, followed by Perler 80-19018 Black at 27%. Perler 80-19080 Bright Green (4) is used only a little: small details worth marking on the chart so you don't miss them. 38% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
All the beads touch along a full side, so it irons into one solid piece.
