About this design
The cookie is a big round of Cheddar, with chips of Brown scattered across it in clumps of one to three beads. Three colours and a round shape make it a calm, easy fill. It is a good size for a coaster for a small cup if you iron both sides well.
Bead counts: 143 Cheddar, 44 Black and 20 Brown, 207 beads in all. Buy a few spares of each colour, because the odd bead always rolls away.
Placing the beads
The pattern is 17 × 15, so it sits inside one large square pegboard; centre it so there is a margin all round. Place the chips first, then fill the Cheddar around them; it is easier than counting gaps.
Ironing and finishing
An adult should do the ironing. Use ironing paper, a medium dry iron and slow circular movements, lifting the paper to check after about ten seconds. Iron the back once the front has cooled, and leave it under a book so it stays flat. Finished, it is about 8.5 × 7.5 cm, a good size for a magnet or a small coaster.
Colour plan
Perler 80-19057 Cheddar does the most work, 69% of the 207 beads, followed by Perler 80-19018 Black at 21%. Every colour is used at least 20 times, so there are no tiny one-off details to hunt for. 19% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
All the beads touch along a full side, so it irons into one solid piece.
