About this design
The carton is Red with a White oval outline on the front, and the fries stick up above it in Yellow with a few Lemon highlights. The tops of the fries are uneven, as they would be in a real carton. Put it next to the cookie and the ice lolly for a play-food set, or make it a magnet.
Bead counts: 68 Red, 38 Black, 35 Yellow, 12 White and 4 Lemon, 157 beads in all. Buy a few spares of each colour, because the odd bead always rolls away.
Placing the beads
You need one large square pegboard for this 16 × 14 design. The fries poke above the carton in separate groups; each group joins the carton along its base.
Ironing and finishing
Ironing is a job for an adult. Cover the beads with ironing paper, set a dry iron to medium and move it in slow circles until the beads just begin to merge. Let it cool, turn it over and press the back, then cool it flat under a heavy book. At about 8 × 7 cm it makes a magnet or a play-food piece.
Colour plan
Perler 80-19005 Red does the most work, 43% of the 157 beads, followed by Perler 80-19018 Black at 24%. Perler 80-15269 Lemon (4) is used only a little: small details worth marking on the chart so you don't miss them. 30% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
All the beads touch along a full side, so it irons into one solid piece.
