About this design
This fox face is wide at the top and tapers to a point at the chin, the classic shape that makes a fox instantly recognisable. Its tall ears are Orange with Blush pink inside, the eyes are two-bead squares of Black, and a White muzzle sweeps up from the chin to the cheeks on both sides. A small Black nose sits at the tip. With four colours and big blocks, it is quick to make and looks great in a group with other woodland animals.
You will need roughly 110 Orange, 69 Black, 45 White and 6 Blush beads. Buy a few spares of each, because the odd bead always rolls away.
Placing the beads
At 21 × 17 beads the design fits easily on one large square pegboard. The white muzzle curves; count its edge carefully on each row so both cheeks match.
Ironing and finishing
Ironing is a job for an adult. Cover the beads with ironing paper, set a dry iron to medium and move it in slow circles until the beads just begin to merge, then let it cool, turn it over and press the back. Cool it flat under a heavy book so it stays straight. At about 10.5 × 8.5 cm in midi beads it makes a coaster, a badge or a fox-themed bedroom decoration.
Colour plan
Perler 80-19004 Orange does the most work, 48% of the 230 beads, followed by Perler 80-19018 Black at 30%. Perler 80-19063 Blush (6) is used only a little: small details worth marking on the chart so you don't miss them. 36% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
All the beads touch along a full side, so it irons into one solid piece.
