Perler to MARD bead conversion

The closest MARD code for each Perler® colour we track, so a Perler pattern can be made from MARD beads.

Going from Perler to MARD is the easy direction: MARD offers far more colours, so nearly every Perler shade has a close MARD code. The table lists the code to buy, such as A6 or F13, with a swatch of each.

Every match is computed with CIEDE2000, the colour-difference formula that tracks how people actually perceive colour, from our documented RGB values (how colour matching works). Where two MARD codes are almost equally close, the table shows the nearest one; look at the swatches if you prefer a slightly warmer or cooler shade.

You can also remake the pattern in MARD directly: open it in the bead pattern maker or editor and choose MARD as the palette, and the bead counts per code are worked out for you.

Frequently asked questions

Does every Perler colour have a MARD match?

Almost all have a close one because the MARD range is much larger. Special finishes such as glow or glitter may not have an equivalent.

What do MARD codes like A6 mean?

The letter is a colour series and the number a shade within it. MARD does not publish colour names, so our names are descriptions.

Are the beads the same size?

Check the packs: fuse beads come in mini, midi and maxi sizes, and only beads of the same size fit the same pegboard.

Where do the colours come from?

From a community-maintained bead colour dataset. Colour on screen is approximate, so compare with a physical bead when the shade matters.
