Perler to Artkal bead conversion

The nearest Artkal S midi bead for every Perler® colour we track. Artkal sells far more colours, so most Perler shades find a close match.

Artkal S beads are the same 5 mm midi size as Perler and come in around 200 colours, roughly twice as many as the Perler range we track. That makes Artkal a popular way to fill gaps in a Perler palette or to buy colours in bulk.

Every match is computed with CIEDE2000, the colour-difference formula that tracks how people actually perceive colour, from our documented RGB values (how colour matching works). Because the Artkal range is larger, you will see more very close and close matches here than in the Perler to Hama table.

For whole patterns, choose Artkal S as the palette in the bead pattern maker; a design made in a bigger palette can capture smoother shading.

Frequently asked questions

Are Artkal S beads the same size as Perler?

Yes, Artkal S is the 5 mm midi size and fits standard 5 mm pegboards. Artkal also makes mini (2.6 mm) and other sizes, which are not interchangeable.

Why does Artkal have more colours?

Artkal offers a very wide midi range, including many subtle tints, so it often has a closer shade than other brands.

Can I iron Artkal and Perler together?

Usually, yes. Iron a small test piece first, because different brands can fuse at slightly different speeds.

Where are Artkal codes like S01 from?

S is Artkal's prefix for its midi soft-bead range. Codes and names come from a community-maintained bead colour dataset.
