About this design
The donut is drawn slightly from above, so the pink icing covers the top and the golden dough shows round the lower edge. The hole is a clean square in the centre, and sprinkles in yellow, blue, green and white are dotted across the icing, never two the same colour side by side.
How to use it
Use it for birthday invitations, a bakery logo or a “donut worry” card. It makes a cheerful fuse bead coaster decoration. Recolour the icing brown for chocolate or white for a glazed donut in the editor.
Size and bead counts
The picture fills 166 of the 256 squares in its grid, within an area 16 squares wide and 14 tall; the rest stay empty. It uses 8 colours: light pink 74 (#FF88BB), dark brown 54 (#332211), orange 14 (#DD9955), brown 14 (#AA7733), yellow 3 (#FFEE55), blue 3 (#55BBFF), green 3 (#66CC66), white 1 (#FFFFFF). Made with 5 mm fuse beads it measures about 8.0 × 7.0 cm and fits on one standard 29 × 29 pegboard. Stitched on 14-count Aida it is about 2.9 × 2.5 cm, or 3.7 × 3.2 cm on 11-count, so add a few centimetres of fabric on every side for the hoop.
Colour plan
#FF88BB does the most work, 45% of the 166 pixels, followed by #332211 at 33%. #FFEE55 (3), #55BBFF (3), #66CC66 (3) and #FFFFFF (1) are used only a little: small details worth marking on the chart so you don't miss them. 35% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
It is 16 × 16 pixels; at 8× scale it becomes 128 × 128. The busiest row changes colour 10 times.
