About this design
Seven rounded White petals and a short stem surround a round Yellow centre with a single Lemon highlight, and a Green stem runs down from the bottom. Each petal has its own black outline, so the flower looks crisp even on a white background. It is quick to make and a good one for Mother’s Day cards or a spring garland.
Bead counts: 92 Black, 80 White, 20 Yellow, 9 Green and 1 Lemon, 202 beads in all. Buy a few spares of each colour, because the odd bead always rolls away.
Placing the beads
At 17 × 18 beads the design fits on one large 29 × 29 square pegboard with room to spare. The petals join the centre and each other along their edges; place the outline round the centre first.
Ironing and finishing
An adult should do the ironing. Use ironing paper, a medium dry iron and slow circular movements, lifting the paper to check after about ten seconds. Iron the back once the front has cooled, and leave it under a book so it stays flat. Finished, it is about 8.5 × 9 cm, a good size for a card, a magnet or a spring garland.
Colour plan
Perler 80-19018 Black does the most work, 46% of the 202 beads, followed by Perler 80-19001 White at 40%. Perler 80-19080 Bright Green (9) and Perler 80-15269 Lemon (1) are used only a little: small details worth marking on the chart so you don't miss them. 34% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
All the beads touch along a full side, so it irons into one solid piece.
