About this design
Three bands make the sweet: a White tip, an Orange middle and a wide Yellow base, all inside a black outline. The sides step in evenly to a rounded point. It is one of the quickest Halloween designs in the library, and a stack of them makes a good party garland or set of treat-bag tags.
Bead counts: 48 Yellow, 42 Black, 38 Orange and 12 White, 140 beads in all. Buy a few spares of each colour, because the odd bead always rolls away.
Placing the beads
At 16 × 15 beads the design fits on one large 29 × 29 square pegboard with room to spare. Each stripe is a straight fill; count the width of each row from the outline.
Ironing and finishing
Ask an adult to iron it: ironing paper on top, a medium dry iron, slow circles, and stop when the beads are joined but the holes are still open if you want a lighter look. Turn it over, press the back and cool it flat. At about 8 × 7.5 cm it is just right for a garland or a treat-bag tag.
Colour plan
Perler 80-19003 Yellow does the most work, 34% of the 140 beads, followed by Perler 80-19018 Black at 30%. Every colour is used at least 12 times, so there are no tiny one-off details to hunt for. 42% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
All the beads touch along a full side, so it irons into one solid piece.
