About this design
The turkey faces you with a round Brown body, black eyes with White highlights, an Orange beak and a Red wattle. Behind it, the tail fans out in rows of Red, Orange and Yellow. Two Orange feet stand underneath. It makes a cheerful Thanksgiving place-card holder or table decoration, and children can make one each.
Bead counts: 33 Brown, 30 Black, 29 Orange, 21 Yellow, 18 Red and 2 White, 133 beads in all. Buy a few spares of each colour, because the odd bead always rolls away.
Placing the beads
At 19 × 15 beads the design fits on one large 29 × 29 square pegboard with room to spare. The feet are separate from each other; each must sit directly under a body bead to fuse on.
Ironing and finishing
With an adult at the iron, fuse the front under ironing paper on a medium setting until the holes start to close, then flip it and do the back. Cool it under something heavy to stop it curling. The finished piece is roughly 9.5 × 7.5 cm and works well as a place card or a table decoration.
Colour plan
Perler 80-19012 Brown does the most work, 25% of the 133 beads, followed by Perler 80-19018 Black at 23%. Perler 80-19001 White (2) is used only a little: small details worth marking on the chart so you don't miss them. 53% of the grid is left empty.
Working notes
All the beads touch along a full side, so it irons into one solid piece.
